چکیده
BACKGROUND: Pneumopericardium (PPC) is one of the rarest pulmonary air leak syndromes, but incidence highest in neonatal period. Risk factors include premature infants with respiratory distress (RD) syndrome, receiving active resuscitation, meconium aspiration and aggressive mechanical ventilation. Several cases have also been reported related to COVID-19. CASE PRESENTATION: We report a case female newborn birth weight 3300 grams COVID-19 confirmed 35-year-old G3P2A0 mother. The baby was not crying at born amniotic fluid stained green. experienced RD intubated. A babygram performed age 5 h impression too deep endotracheal tube, pneumonia, PPC. RT-PCR examination positive. There were no signs cardiac tamponade, so it decided take conservative supportive management. CONCLUSION: Resolution PPC found on repeated 26 later. then discharged after 19 days treatment.

Respiratory distress presents as tachypnea, nasal flaring, retractions, and grunting and may progress to respiratory failure if not readily recognized and managed. Common causes include transient tachypnea...

The most common etiology of neonatal respiratory distress is transient tachypnea of the newborn; this is triggered by excessive lung fluid, and symptoms usually resolve spontaneously.
